Position InformationHiring Manager:Managing Director, Head of Corporate AffairsDepartment:Corporate AffairsDepartment OverviewCorporate Affairs oversees, integrates and manages the functions currently comprising Corporate Communications, Responsible Investing and Corporate Philanthropy.Corporate Affairs advances the Firm’s goals by crafting compelling commercial narratives, aligning, external-facing personnel and functions with messaging priorities and enhancing and protecting the Firm’s reputation​.Corporate Affairs achieves its goals through the development of integrated communications plans that support business objectives. The team collaborates closely with Firm leadership, Sponsor Finance, the Investor Partners Group, Structured Products Teams and Functional groups to develop messaging and positioning that resonates with key stakeholder groups including private equity sponsors, investors, lenders and employees.Position Responsibilities The Director will ensure flawless execution of the Firm’s internal and external communication campaigns in a process-orientated, repeatable and efficient way. The role involves interfacing with senior leaders efficiently to demonstrate an adherence to detail, process and analytical decision making.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Leading the development of compelling, differentiated messaging to support key Firm milestones and events across stakeholders which advance business goalsDeveloping and executing integrated external and internal communications strategies and plans in alignment with Firm and business objectives working with internal stakeholders and the Firm’s retained communications agencyServing as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and spokespeople on messaging, positioning and reputation managementManaging the Firm’s bench of approved spokespeople and ensuring training and communication of messaging guidelines in preparation for external speaking opportunitiesManaging the Firm’s media relations efforts and engagement including fostering strong relationships with reportersDeveloping and managing content across key internal communications channels including firmwide announcements and town hallsEstablishing scalable communications processes and governance to ensure consistent, high-quality execution across communications campaigns and initiativesEnsuring flawless execution of communication campaigns in a process-orientated, repeatable and efficient manner by building, maintaining and improving key processesFostering a positive and creative work environment and ensuring seamless collaboration across teams and within the Communications TeamDeveloping effective, best-practice reporting measures to demonstrate the efficacy in supporting business goalsCandidate RequirementsQualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required12+ years of experience in a similar communications or PR role within financial services (Credit and private markets experience is preferred)Exceptional writing skills with demonstrated ability to develop clear and compelling messaging with precise attention to detailExperience interfacing with reporters and media outletsGoal and action orientedTrack record managing complex, multi-stakeholder reputational issues including at a portfolio company levelProject management skills with demonstrable ability to manage integrated communication campaigns to completionExperience with digital communications and social media engagementAbility to build productive working relationships with colleagues at all levelsCurious, collaborative, process-driven and analyticalProven ability to oversee multiple projects with quick turnaround timesProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI tools in day-to-day work, with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, limitations and appropriate use of AI generated outputsEnthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work cultureCritical Competencies for SuccessOur Gold Standards define key behaviors and competencies across 4 dimensions: Leadership, Achieving Results, Personal Effectiveness and Thinking Critically. They are forward thinking, anticipating issues and addressing them in advance.Compensation and BenefitsFor New York Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $250,000 to $300,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
